WickedWelshPonies

Obviously, the Welsh Pony originated in Wales.

The Welsh Pony breed are separated into 4 categories; Section A (the Welsh Mountain Pony), Section B (the Welsh Pony), Section C (the Welsh Pony of Cob type) and Section D (the Welsh Cob).

Welsh Ponies are known for their good temperament, hardiness and free-moving gaits.

Ponies in Wales existed prior to 1600 BC, and Welsh Cobs have been in Wales as early as the Middle Ages.

In 1901, the first registry for Welsh Ponies was listed in the UK, and the second in 1907 in the USA.

Throughout its history, the Welsh Pony has been used for many things, for example cavalry, a pit horse or a working farm horse.

Today, the Welsh Pony is a popular breed with children, for pony shows and pleasure riding, though many people just generally love the breed!

(And those who love the breed, I agree with you!)
